Service charges
Centralia City Service charges are based on the use of water and sewer services. The city will review its user charge system annually, and may adjust the rates if necessary. The rates will need to generate sufficient revenues to cover the annual operating, maintenance, replacement, and bonding costs of the Water System, including principal and interest. In addition, the charges will need to be equitable across users.
The rates are divided into two categories: the Residential General Service Rate and the Small General Service Rate. The former is charged to residential customers for general residential use, while the latter is charged based on the demand load of their residences. The Residential General Service Rate applies to individuals and households, while the Small General Service Rate applies to businesses, corporations, hotels, hospitals, schools, and churches.
Collection of solid waste
Centralia City Services collects solid waste on a regular basis. Residents can drop off their trash in designated locations throughout the city or call the number at the top of their bill to have it picked up. The solid waste collection facility accepts a variety of materials, including construction debris, household garbage, and used tires.
Residential solid waste consists of materials that must be separated or processed in some way after collection. This includes wastepaper, wood, cardboard, plastic, and other items. It may also include animal manure, street sweepings, stone and concrete, and trash.
